Primary tabs View active tab What links here. Author: admin. Or even for that matter. At Monster Muscle they're trying to answer that question. The thread is started based partly on Scot Mendleson's interview for the upcoming powerlifting movie, Powerlifting Unlimited, where he claims to have raw squatted 1, pounds.Mark Henry. He did over 9 in just wraps and a belt, if I'm not mistaken. AS for the raw squat- don reinhoudt has the official highest raw squat of pounds in just a belt, i wouldnt doubt him to be the STRONGEST squatter of all time - and i also believe that paul anderson squatted up to as much as they said he did there is no one that has squatted a grand raw and if any one has i want to see it.He can for sure do Yea if kirk wanted to and actually trained for it he would deffinatly be able to get up a grand raw to well below acceptable depth. I deleted the negative comment as it didn't further this discussion whatsoever. Beau Moore held the old record of lbs. Nick's Total on Saturday was: lbs. His Lifts: lb.Squat lb. Bench lb. Again that's in competition, legal depth and had their lift recorded as a Record! If someone can name the Federation, Athlete and the amount lifted, I'll stand corrected. The 1, lb. Squat is so far out there that to wonder about someone doing it when there are only a few If there is to be a debate Greg, many people consider using knee wraps as still lifting raw. With that in mind, do you think is possible by anyone? With or without drugs. Jon, I do know of people that think that wraps are part of RAW These two federations have more RAW Lifters registered than any other With that said. It could be done Shane Hamman has squatted extremly heavy wearing a singlet and wraps Nick Minneti It's not just about Leg Strength The suit and wraps purpose is to aid in the stabalization Mental strength is a huge factor as well. In short I think it can be done.It sounds like you think is possible, even drug free. That seems to imply that more would be possible, like maybe 1,, if drugs were used?Your take on the definition of raw is interesting. Due to the fractured status of powerlifting, including raw, it's somewhat hard to declare any organization s as setting a standard at this point.Have you seen that Monster Muscle is coming out with raw rankings and their definition of raw includes knee wraps? Jon, Your point is what If anything Monster Muscle should defer to Federations that spend the money, time and resource to support the lifter in what they do The future growth and mainstream acceptance will need both the factors mentioned above for our sport to reach its full potential. No special gear Winning because of Technique and Strength unsupported! I hope this clears up what camp I'm in LOL Always Remember There are No Limits Drug Free! That was my point, that powerlifting is fractured. No one is on the same page. Leadership will be determined by moving the sport, whether in raw or in total. It won't be determined by goals. At this point, most don't see any group s taking the lead in this regard.Greg, I don't think many people misinterpret the camp you're in - you're pretty clear in what you say. Greg, Capt. Kirk hit raw no knee wraps at an AAu meet at lbs. We will see what the big boys are capable of!! Unfortunately, the results probably will not be worth much in Greg's eyes as the meet will not be drug tested.I don't think a lb RAW Squat can be done drug free anytime soon. Let's not forget there are "drug free" lifters who are not actually drug free! Heck, many people will be lucky to Squat lbs RAW with proper depth and drug free. And that's the truth. I have trained in strongman, powerlifting, and olympic style's of lifting.Let me tell you most people have no clue what lbs feels like! But many people throws around these numbers like any old buddy can do it. And these guys were built for the squat! Anyone can claim to squat this or that, but doing it in a meet is another story. Even if someone does a RAW squat of lbs in a drug free meet everyone then will wonder if that person was actually drug free!So who knows if it really is possible. But there was some people who squatted lbs raw. But before told who are those supersquatters lets's have some consideration. When we talk about powerlifting squat,we are talking about a parallel squat, not a full ass to grass squat in olympic style So,people like mark henry,or don reinoudt, that almost do a kg lbs squat rawthey have maximum a full squat in the range of lbs kg ca.The same for the top ipf guys. But we can find the most incredible genetic freak in those sport who have more hystory and athletic exasperation than powerlifting or strongman. I talk about olympic lifting and shot put. In shot put,udo beyer could squat kg raw! And manuel martinez do more than kg bench raw. Let's talk about top guys in olympic lifting. Serge reding were witnessed by doctor mell stiff doing sets of 5 reps of speed squat with kg Rudolf plukefelder, the coach of old russian olympic team in the 80s told that aslanbek yenaldiev do a kg squat It's hard to believe but enaldiev was famous for his ability to squat kg.But it was not drug free However i read that the record of the old dynamo team urss olympic was lbs. Hossein rezazadeh train with squat raw easily. And for the lighter guys i know that david rigert was able to do 3 reps with kg raw at lbs.Three ass to grass fast reps. Idalberto aranda ,77kg, do a double with kg at the end of his workout ironmind tape. What is the current Raw Squat record in a powerlifting meet? I want to know what the actual RAW Squat record is! The question is when! It will take a long time before a lb Raw Drug free Squat can be done. For the simply reason that anyone is interested by powerlifting raw meet.Elite powerlifting or strongman champions don't lift in infamous raw federation. Now there are federation like wpo or apf in which you can win a lot of money and become famous in the world. In europe the most important federation is ipf. Thre are a lot of strong guys. Many powerlifting champions was ex not elite weightlifter. So is most rare to find a fenomenal freak nowedays in powerlifting. An guys that could done a squat raw maybe will never do a raw meet. For whichreason for example, guy like rezazadeh must do a powerlifting raw meet? Not only a raw meet but also drug tested. That's what makes the feat so difficult. Although as you say Eugene there may be those that can but they'll never participate under these conditions, so we'll never know. Eugene, Your posts seem to say that you believe weightlifters Olympic, shot putters are better squatters then Powerlifters and Strongman? If so why? No,because weightlifting and powerlifting are different sport. IF the current crop of strongmen, highland games athletes, powerlifters, were state supported, and trained under the same conditions at the top OLers, would they reach the same levels of strength?Eugene, I am not trying to start a big argument, but in all fairness to PL and strongman I disagree about OL being the strongest athletes. Power cleans: OL have the advantage due the fact they simply have better technique then other strength athletes. Because they use that type of movement all the time in training. The power clean is a lift that requires lots of technique. If guys like Pudzinowski, Coan and Gary Frank had the same technique training as an OL lifter they would easily power clean more weight. Military Press: Patera did a lb clean and Press which involves technique. It was not a true Military press. After finishing his third squat rep and racking the weight, Duffin broke down in tears—which were well-warranted as he completed this awesome feat. While the event wasn't sanctioned, Duffin is likely the first person ever to both squat and deadlift over 1, pounds, according to BarBend. Still, he was determined to finish his mission, which has been four years in the making after another impressive feat of strength. Duffin first sumo deadlifted 1, pounds for two reps back in Duffin's emotion at completing his goal is evident even in his Instagram caption, especially considering the peculiar challenge of completing it during such a tumultuous time.Despite all the uncertainty in the world and our lives right now, I set out on a clear and defined path 4 years ago. A path to do something epic, to inspire, and to raise money and build awareness for causes I believe in.It was a major battle for me in the last year to pull off the last portion of this goal," he wrote in part of his Instagram caption. And though Duffin acknowledges his record wasn't 'official,' he's pretty damn proud. I did it, and no one can take that away.DONE," he wrote. United States.

Is it possible to squat 1000 pounds

Use this time-hacking method to increase your productive sprints. By alternating 25 minute work sessions with 5 minute rests, you allow your brain to get some breathing room and are able to get in more focused work. Check out my video where I share how I use this technique. Why does this work? These memory-boosting techniques are the cornerstone of my language learning missions and allow me to quickly build up my store of useful words and phrases in record time. You can read more detailed instructions on how to use mnemonics and Spaced Repeition Systems on the blog. You can find teachers and language exchange partners online. That way, you can practice your language from the comfort of your own home without ever buying a plane ticket. Be sure to check out my posts on how to use italki to find a language partner, as well as how to use Skype to learn a language.Try to incorporate your new language into every aspect of your life. Listen to music in your target language. Watch movies in the language. Play computer games or use your phone in the language. Sing in the language. Heck, even think in the language. This constant exposure will enhance your ability to speak the language and recall vocabulary.Based on my experience I would put the total hours necessary to reach a B2 level in most languages is around to hours. Now, before I say anything else, let me explain a few key points:. First, the number of languages you have learned before will affect this number. If it is your first time learning a language and the first time is almost always the most difficult the number will be closer to hours. Finally, keep in mind the goal I mentioned before. Over the course of 12 weeks 3 months that works out to around hours. That falls right in line with my prediction on how many hours it takes.I know that not everyone can put 5 hours a day into learning a language. But anyone that includes you! Lauren is a fairly new language learner, currently working on her first full language learning mission with Russian. That works out to 42 hours a week which, over 12 weeks, is hours. The first is that the traditional way of looking at language acquisition has some problems, because it is based on two huge myths:.Classrooms are the best place to learn to speak a language. The goal of every language learner is to pass a test. To become a fluent speaker of a language, with a focus on communication, then the best way to improve your skills is to speak the language. I make this point so often that I should just rename the website to SpeakSpeakSpeak. Nowadays there is an endless array of apps, software, and courses that claim to teach you Spanish in days or weeks. But at the end of the day, these wild claims are just their way of hooking you in. If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. When this happens, many people will end up blaming themselves. This leads to a loss of confidence that can manifest itself in various harmful ways. There are a number of government organizations that have also weighed in on how long it takes to learn Spanish. By far the most popular, widely quoted opinion is from the U.According to an FSI study , it should take classroom hours to achieve conversational fluency in Spanish. Furthermore, they suggest an approximate ratio between time spent in the classroom, and time spent studying independently most people miss this part. Therefore, the total time spent will actually be around 1, hours! If that seems like a lot, it is!Believing a statistic like this is just as damaging to language learners as the unrealistic promises we talked about earlier. One of the most important things for a beginner is to start learning Spanish with a positive, confident mindset. However, figures like the 1, hours quoted by FSI paints the goal of learning Spanish as a daunting, massive undertaking. Rather than doing people a favor by telling them what to expect, it intimidates and discourages them from wanting to pick up Spanish in the first place. The problem is, the traditional classroom is one of the least effective ways to learn. In a group Spanish class, you have one teacher lecturing students. In a 3-hour class, each student might only get 10 minutes of actual speaking practice. In a classroom, you can hide in the back and passively listen to a lecture.According to research from the NTL Institute, people remember much more information if they are learning it actively:. By concentrating on the most efficient ways to learn Spanish rather than the slow, outdated methods recommended by the FSI, you will be able to learn in a fraction of the time. Most organizations measure fluency on the basis of reaching a certain academic level or obtaining a certification.Even the most popular software and apps use this as a benchmark. Also, a local Russian friend here in Vermont says his friends in Petrosovosk accuse him of having an American accent in his spoken Russian now.Basically, I believe that if you swim in grape juice, you're going to get purple. Immersion in the society of choice, and dedication to the goal of becoming fluent, will result in competence faster than you think. I say that even though most of my American cohort hasn't managed to master their own language yet, however! If you make the commitment to speak French only, and I mean only , and have a friend that is willing to correct you constantly , and you speak mainly with native french speakers, and you have bit of a gift for languages, you can be quite good in a couple of months. If you already know other langauges, it will come quicker. Fluency seems to take around a year or so, from my experience of moving to France and not having any sort of language skills at the begining. I'm about to do something like this myself. My next job requires French.I'm not sure how long it will take me to learn it, but I've been watching the French In Action videos. They are all available, on demand and free. It's a good way to brush up before plunging in. Good luck! A big factor is your previous exposure to languages. If this is your first foreign language, it will take longer than if you learned at least a little of another language when you were a kid. There's no way to answer your actual question other than "it depends," but with your attitude, it shouldn't take too long. Montreal is a great place to learn French, but expect to have your accent sneered at by Parisians! You already speak French Percentage invented for the purposes of this comment but probably not too inaccurate. I appreciate the desire to encourage, but please stay within the bounds of reality. I studied abroad in Prague for about 6 months, and while we were given a crash course in Czech upon arriving, it seemed none of us could grasp the Slavic language beyond numbers, greetings, and fending off conversational advances with "I don't speak much Czech.Flash forward to a year later: I'm sitting in a coffee shop in DC, minding my own business, benignly eavesdropping on two women who are chatting about the lack of towels in their hotel room. It's great that you're going to be so pro-active in learning the language of whatever country you decide upon, but it's such an organic process that sometimes you won't even know how much you're actually absorbing. This has pretty much never happened to me, despite having spent quite a bit of time in fracophone countries. I'm often told that I'm extremely easy to talk to, though, so maybe that cuts across international borders. My example with italian: Age 22 I find myself working in Rome, with the only previous foreign language experience being a pathetic study of French in high school for the requisite two years I say pathetic due to my teachers' fantastically horrific Texan accents when speaking: Ge sweez amur-e-can y'all I took no formal classes, but did the self-study thing with books, pointing at everything in eyesight with Come si dice?It took me about nine months for comprehension, and probably the equivalent before I truly was able to converse in a normal paced discussion. A complicating factor was that my job required more English than not and it was a rather insular environment with a variety of nationalities all speaking pigeon Italian only when necessary.I subsequently have an accent, but not an easy-to-pinpoint one. I can manage the latter when situations require ie formal situations with strangers, interaction with utility companies but the former comes raging out when I get frustrated or pissy see also: said utility companies. Which is a load of laughs when my rellies come visiting and I sputter "uh Newer ».
