Important note: Source exchange is and Target is SP3 Also I noticed that mailnickname doesn't get synced and has no value in the target domain. Slav, The X is for reply ability for existing emails. Is this causing you an issue? Up 0 Down Cancel. Personally I do not see how this is causing you an issue. Like Like. Pingback: Info about legacyExchangeDN and related trouble ril3y. Pingback: legacyExchangeDN Woes. Good summary. If that makes sense. Problem is Contoso1 is very very widely used and should never have been changed. When is the problem of re-adding the former legacyExchangeDN of contoso1 as x proxy address to contoso2? Does anyone know how to fix an issue when mailboxes are migrated to Office from Exchange The mailbox objects in contain the LEDN of the migrated mailbox from on-premise, however when doing a reply to all from an email received prior to the migration, the senders email address is included reply all includes self.

Thank you,. If possible, extract the LegacyExchangeDN from Rackspace environment and apply as x to your on-prem environment.

I do not understand this topic at all. Can someone tell me which service in Exchange updates the legacylegacyExchangeDN. I know there is command to update it , however i want to know which service in Exchange automatcically updates it.

Please confirm what is the CN value for legacyexchangeDN as i have noticed it is not matching with CN value of the object for most of the user objects.

Note that only applies to objects created after migrating to this version in your environment, so you may have a mix as your environment went from version to version. Thanks Michael , we are facing issue in getting this populated automatically and i believe in exchange there is no separate service which runs and populates the field , It is done using the update-recipient command only.

We were thinking to forcefully update the field based on the attribute format of legacyexchangeDN. Not in a supported way, yet you may perhaps adjust the provisioning process e. Do check on its uniqueness though.

I agree however we use FIM to bring in objects and as you might be knowing FIM works on attributes values rather than running powershell commands.

Again, note you might be walking the unsupported path. Most desirable option depends on the requirements of the organization, of course. This makes complete sense to me. We recently added O for some of our international users. Mailboxes created after the O implementation do not have X addresses created with the new mailbox. I can manually add these addresses using the Exchange Management Shell to pull the legacyExchangeDN and adding that as the X address. However, I would prefer not to take the extra time to do so.

Can you help me with the syntax to add this back into the policy? If these are only used for replying to old messages, why would we be receiving NDRs for new accounts? After adding the X address and removing the autofill from Outlook, messages are delivered.

We are planning to upgrade to Exchange next year. With old messages, I mean messages received before from that person. Users who have been migrated from to can receive emails from users but users who have migrated cannot reply to emails from users without getting the bounceback:.

ExRecipNotFound; not found. If I remove the address from the saved address list in Outlook and manually enter the SMTP address of user contoso. If I look at the properties within each cross forest contact which can't be manually edited I can see that each user has the following attributes in Exchange's EMC:.

Is this a problem? If so is FIM to blame? Question for Exchange D - What archiving program are you using? We seem to be having similar issues.

We are having problem with users with outlook accessing multiple shared calendar. Users will be able to connect few calendar , for example a user is supposed to open 20 Shared mail box calendar , user will be able to connect 17 Mailbox successfully. When he tries to open one more calendar after that it throws error saying Microsoft exchange unable to connect to the server. User mail box and shared calendar mailbox is on exchange So we thought the issue will be with Throttling Policy , so we went ahead and created a Custom Policy and added the users to it, we set the RCA Max concurrency to Still the issue is the same.

And this Administrative Group has two Exchange servers with one public folder. By Default will the outlook tries to connect the public folder under this Administrative Group first and if no replicas found as the replicas all moved to exchange it will do a public folder referral to exchange servers public folder. And causing the throtlling policy not to be applied for the user account? The company gets acquired and wants to re-brand all the email addresses AND remove the old addresses and have them all bounce with a "we changed our name" message.

At the same time, you'd like internal users to be able to continue to send mail to each other, have their contact list and auto-complete continue to work, and be able to reply to existing messages.
