These procedures can be done both arthroscopically and through a larger incision open surgery or with a combination of the two techniques. There are different approaches to surgery for tennis elbow, such as where to enter the elbow and what type of reconstruction or repair on the tendon is done.Surgical technique is determined by the type, location, and severity of the injury and by the doctor's preference and experience. There is no strong medical research that shows that one type of surgery is better than another or that surgery is better than other treatment. The success of surgery depends in large part on the amount of time and effort you put into a rehab program. Other treatment for tennis elbow pain includes physical rehabilitation rehab , acupuncture, topical nitric oxide, shock wave therapy, and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation TENS.Physical rehab is combined with tendon rest to restore flexibility and build muscle strength. Rehab is needed after surgery too. A physical rehab program not only helps heal injured tendons and muscles but also helps prevent further injury. While Federer continues to rack up records, his reason for playing playing is more personal: It's a quest to regain the feeling he's had at his best. Striving for constant improvement fuels Federer. And as different players come, you realize you have to adjust a little bit, either with your serve, either you tinker with technology, with the racquet size or whatever string technology, and, you know, maybe take the ball earlier or later.Whatever you're trying to do, there's always going to be a plan behind it. Federer is fascinated by the game because it's endlessly challenging on multiple levels. Anyway, so far not yet. I don't know. I would admit I would be struggling on court whatever, you know, 23, with impossible shades and no people watching, especially after living the big courts. The situation seems to me very much like your typical one percent versus the 99 percent battle—an Occupy Tennis of sorts. The detractors see on one side a guy who's got so much and wants more and there's nothing wrong with wanting more. And on the other side, they see a group with little but their hope that someone will champion their cause. I'd say that for your average detractor, that's pretty close to being a moral issue. For them, it's a question of: is it right to continue to push for a scenario in which Federer dominates or are we best off striving for a future in which we are all in this together, and everyone is included, including Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray? It's that familiar question that has dominated our politics: Do we build tennis from the middle out or the top down? However, that question alone doesn't fully represent it. In the meantime, Roger is one Masters title away from tying Rafael Nadal's all-time record at the moment, so Rafa has to watch his records carefully as well, before they get stolen away from his prime time rival.Follow me on Twitter. The Pole Hubert Hurkacz 24 had just had breakfast with the Swiss 3: 6, 6: 7 and 0: 6.For years it was the other way around: Federer swallowed one big tournament victory after the other. Now, at the age of 40, the breakfast buffet seems looted — others are faster, better, younger. Few professional athletes have legendary status even when they were active.
